Role:  Support Worker – The Lighthouse (Reamcare Ltd)

Location: Surbiton, Borough of Kingston upon Thames

Job Summary:

The Lighthouse Children's Home provides care for children with autism and learning disabilities and is based in Surbiton. This is an excellent opportunity to work flexible hours and to gain experience of working with children and young people with special needs in a caring environment. The home is rated as Good by Ofsted.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the children's physical, behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Supporting young people to do their favourite things and try new activities at home and also outdoor activities.
  • Providing high quality care to young people.

Requirements:

  • Some experience working with autistic and multiple learning disabilities children is preferable but we are open to applicants with little experience but strong motivation
  • To be able to provide consistency of care and support to the young people
  • Ability to interact with a range of people/young people
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Diploma Level 3 children and young people preferable
  • Good written and spoken English

Salary: Salary £11.00 -- £11.50 (£11.50 for candidates with qualification of Children and Young People/Residential Childcare - Diploma Level 3) + potential overtime
